Phyllis Poirier and Arline Winerman first met during their early teaching days here in Florida and became fast friends and co-teachers. Classes began at the VFW, where they taught for many years. Their classes continued to grow in popularity as they changed venues that included the Elks Club in Pinellas Park and Allendale United Methodist Church in St. Petersburg. They made the move to a new space at the Pinellas Park Senior Center in May 2018.

Their teaching styles meshed so well together and allowed students to take advantage of their combined talents and many years of experience.

Arline passed away in March, 2019. Phyllis and all her students miss her very much. Phyllis continues to teach many of the dances that Arline had brought to their classes.
